Would You Like to Lose Weight on the 5:2 Diet?



Have you heard of the 5:2 diet? This is a weight loss diet where you can fast for 2 days per week and then eat normally the rest of the time.

It sounds too easy and it is. I have tried this diet. 


I have lost most of my weight doing the 5:2 diet

I lost one and a half stone so far on the 5:2 diet and it gets easier once you are doing it.

On the 5:2 diet, you eat 500 calories (for women) and 600 calories (for men) on your fast days. At present, I do my fast days on Tuesdays and Thursdays, but you can do three fast days if you wish i.e. Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The rest of the time you eat normally, but not overdoing it. I eat at least 1500 calories the rest of the time, so I make sure I am losing weight. It's an easy lifestyle diet that I recommend.

Foods to Eat on Fast Days



You can eat anything but you have to stick to 500 calories or 600 for men. Here is a list of foods that I eat on Fast days.

Fruit - Bananas, Apples, Pears, Oranges, grapes, peaches, melon.
Eggs
Fish - white fish, salmon, tuna.
Chicken or any kind of meat, such as pork, lean beef or pork loin chops.
Cottage cheese
Low-fat cheeses like spreads
Vegetables - all kinds
Wholemeal bread is allowed, but make sure it is within the 500 calories.

Feast Days

On these days you eat anything you want in moderation. I stick to 1500 calories on these days and eat as healthy as I possibly can, which means I do not overdo it on sweet foods like cakes or chocolate. On these days I have my wine with dinner because I know that I can, but I never overdo it. A maximum of 2 to 3 small glasses of dry white wine is the limit for me on feast days. Sometimes, I have red wine, but I only have up to 2 small classes.

I love this diet and so far it has helped me to lose weight. I recommend it to anyone who is willing to give it a go. It is easy when you know you can eat more food the following day. So, give it a go... it's an easy lifestyle diet!
